we had a lovely stay at pinheiros da balaia villas. the pool area was amazin and well-maintained. The bar had great food at reasonable prices. our two-bedroom villa was super spacious and comfy for all of us. the staff, especially fatima, were really friendly and made us feel welcome. the nearby beach was a short taxi ride away, which was convenient for our family.

the location is a bit far from restaurants and shops, so taxis added up. we also noticed some ants in the villa which was a bit annoying.

The villas are quite spacious, even had a dishwasher and washing machine, perfect for a family. I even had a lovely chat with a staff member named Fatima who went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay.

The walk to nearby attractions was longer than expected, and the pool had some safety concerns with broken tiles and missing tiles. not exactly confidence-inspiring. the temperature of the pool was noticeably chilly, especially in the off-peak season, which cut down on its enjoyment. Wi-Fi connection was spotty, and the lack of basic kitchen supplies like a sponge or washing-up liquid left us feeling inadequately prepared for self-catering. All in all, it was a mixed bag this time around.
